Significance of recycling waste plastics

Plastic recycling refers to the process of recycling waste plastics to achieve the goal of turning waste into treasure. At present, waste plastics in China mainly include plastic packaging film, plastic woven products, foamed plastics, plastic packaging boxes and containers, daily living plastics and their products, plastic bags and agricultural mulch.

With the increasing consumption of plastic products, waste plastics are also increasing. In addition, China's annual consumption of automotive plastics has reached 400000 tons, and that of electronic appliances and household appliances has reached more than 1 million tons. These products become one of the important sources of waste plastics after being scrapped. It is understood that in 2004, China's waste plastics had reached about 11 million tons. These waste plastics will certainly damage the environment and endanger people's health.

1、 Why should we recycle waste plastics?

    1. Protect the environment. As we all know, plastic has a great impact on the environment. It not only causes pollution, but also has hidden dangers. Especially primary plastic products, such as primary lunch boxes and plastic bags. Because of the convenience of plastic products, they are widely used by people and discarded at will after use, leading to white pollution everywhere in the suburbs. This has seriously affected our environment as a human society.

    2. Improve the utilization rate of land resources. Landfill is still the main method of urban waste disposal in China. Due to its small density and large volume, plastics can be quickly landfilled, reducing the garbage disposal capacity of the landfill; In addition, due to the soft foundation of the landfill, bacteria, viruses and other harmful substances in the garbage simply enter the ground and pollute the groundwater.

    3. Increase the output value of crops. Plastic products deteriorate the soil environment and seriously affect crop growth. It usually takes at least 200 years for plastic products to degrade. Abandoned agricultural films and plastic bags left in the field for a long time will affect the absorption of water and nutrients by crops, inhibit the growth and development of crops and reduce crop yield. If livestock eat plastic film by mistake, it will cause digestive system diseases, even livestock death. Recycling waste agricultural film and plastic bags is conducive to the growth of crops and increase the output value of crops.
   4. Maintain the atmospheric environment. If waste plastics are burned directly, it will cause serious pollution to social and environmental problems. Because when plastic burns, it will produce a lot of black smoke.

    5. Recycled plastics can protect biodiversity. Plastic products, especially plastic bags, may cause death if animals eat them carelessly. In December 2007, two deer in Haicang Zoo in Xiamen, China, died of stomach stones due to eating plastic bags and other white wastes. In August 2006, a 6-year-old male spotted seal died in Pingshan Dongfang Giant Turtle Park. veral plastic bags were found in the seal's feces. These things happen all over the world. Let's protect the environment together.Se
