Extreme high temperature occurs in both the north and south polar regions

Matthew Lazara, a meteorologist at the University of Wisconsin in the United States, observed that the temperature in the C-ii region of the ice dome in East Antarctica reached minus 10 degrees Celsius on the 18th day, while the average temperature in the same period in previous years was minus 43 degrees Celsius. Lazara said: "This temperature should occur in January, not March. January is summer there. It's too exaggerated."
        The Associated Press quoted Walter Meyer, a scientist from the National Snow and Ice Data Research Center of the United States, as reporting that the temperature in some parts of the Arctic in mid March was about 30 ℃ higher than the average level in the same period of previous years, and the temperature in some regions even approached or reached the freezing point, which is extremely rare.
         Meyer said that the seasons at the south and north poles are opposite at present, but extreme high temperature weather occurs at the same time, which is "absolutely unusual" and "quite amazing".

         Researchers from the University of Maine said that, based on the weather model established by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States, compared with the average level of the same period from 1979 to 2000, the temperature of the Antarctic continent on the 18th of this month was about 4.8 ℃ higher as a whole, that of the Arctic region was 3.3 ℃ higher as a whole, and that of the whole world was 0.6 ℃ higher.
Globally, the average temperature from 1979 to 2000 was about 0.3 ℃ higher than the average level in the 20th century.
