With the vigorous implementation of the national "plastic restriction order", plastic bags have undergone great changes. From traditional PP and PE bags to degradable plastic bags, some unscrupulous merchants still use traditional plastic bags, but in the printing process, they have to be shoddy, obviously not degradable products, but they must be crowned Famous degradable plastic bags. So, how can we tell if a plastic bag is degradable?

Graphical signs: The "Guidelines for the Classification and Labeling of Degradable Plastic Products" clearly stipulates the "double J mark" of the graphic signs of degradable plastic products, but traditional bags do not have this mark.

Word identification: The word identification includes the material of the product, the product standard number and the degradation conditions. The materials of biodegradable plastics are usually polylactic acid (PLA), polybutylene adipate/terephthalate (PBAT) or PLA+PBAT+starch (St). But traditional plastic bags usually contain polypropylene (PP), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and polyethylene (PE), among others.

Execution standards: The upgrading of products must be supported by strict standards. Regarding plastic bags, there are three main implementation standards: GB/T 38079-2019 Biodegradable Plastic Shopping Bags, GB/T 21661-2020 Plastic Shopping Bags, and GB/T 38082-2019 Biodegradable Plastic Shopping Bags. The last standard clearly requires the biodegradability of degradable plastic bags to be ≥90%.

Bag name: Generally speaking, biodegradable plastic bags will be clearly marked on the bag: biodegradable bags, biodegradable environmental protection bags, fully biodegradable shopping bags, etc.

I believe that under the supervision of the market in the future, we do not need to spend time identifying biodegradable bags and traditional bags, because degradable environmentally friendly bags will be replaced on the market!
